Berchmans Institute of Management Studies, Admissions 2012-2014

The MBA programme offered by the institute is aided and spread for two years of four semesters. Berchmans Institute of Mangement Studies offers a number of Specialisations for the MBA program.

Admission
BIMS welcomes able men and women of all social and economic levels. Berchmans Institute of Management Studies is interested in students who sincerely seek to enlarge their minds, to deepen their commitments, and to develop their capacities to lead.

Eligibility
A pass in any Bachelor's degree examination of the Mahatma Gandhi University or any equivalent degree of any other University duly recognised by the Mahatma Gandhi University with not less than 50% marks in aggregate, i.e. in all parts of the exam or in a Masters Degree Exam if the candidate has passed any such exam of the Mahatma Gandhi University or any other University recognised by the Mahatma Gandhi University. Final year degree students may also apply.
The candidates belonging to the SC/ST communities shall be eligible for a relaxation of marks up to 5% in the aggregate to determine their eligibility

Reservation
20% of the total seat is reserved for the SC/ST community. 10% of the seat is reserved for the RCSC community under Changanassery Arch Diocese and 20% seat for the management quota. Admission to the SC/ST reserved seats and community quota also will be done purely on merit basis from the respective community.


Admission Procedure
Admission to the MBA programme is on the basis of merit as determined by the scores obtained by the candidate in the admission test, group discussion and personal interview in the proportion given below:
70% - admission test, 15% - group discussion, 15% - interview

Selection Procedure
Phase 1: The candidates have to appear in the Management Aptitute Test (MAT) conducted by AIMA. MAT bulletin with application form can be obtained by sending a DD of Rs.1050/- drawn in favour of AIMA CMS payable at New Delhi to All India Management Association, 14, Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi 110 003.
Phase2: The applicant should obtain a separate application form and prospectus from Berchmans Institute of Management Studies, S.B College on payment of Rs.350/- in cash or through DD for Rs.400/- drawn in favour of Principal, SB College, payable at SBT, SB College Branch, Changanassery. The application form can also be down loaded from the BIMS website www.sbmba.in. Those using the down loaded application form must attach a DD of Rs.400/- drawn in favour of the principal, SB College, Changanassery payable at SBT, SB College Branch, Changanassery along with the application form on submission.

The candidates short listed on the basis of MAT score will be called for Group discussion and Interview. Those who have taken previous MAT valid at the time of admission can also apply with a photocopy of the MAT score card.

Filled in application form with a recent pasport size photograph affixed in the space provided along with the following documents are to be submitted or send to The Director, Berchmans Institute of Management Studies, SB College, Changanassery, Kottayam District, Kerala - 686 101

1. Crossed DD of Rs. 400/- payable to the principal, SB College, Changanassery, payable at SBT, SB College Branch, Changanassery, if the application is down loaded from the website and no fee paid towards it. (No seperate DD is to be attached for who obtained the application form from the BIMS office by remitting the requisite fee)
2 . Self addressed envelope 30 cm * 12 cm with Rs.5/- stamp affixed.
3. Two self addressed post cards each with Rs. 6/- stamp affixed
4. Photocopy of the MAT Score report
5. Caste or Community proof, as and where applicable.
